The SCSC is excited to welcome post-doctoral fellow, Dr. Erin Reedy.
Dr. Erin Reedy received a Health & Rehabilitation Science PhD in 2021 from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, SC. At MUSC she received academic mentorship and research experience under Dr. Heather Bonilha. She joined the Swallowing Cross-Systems Collaborative lab at Northwestern University with Dr. Martin-Harris in September as a post-doctoral fellow and is also affiliated with the GI esophageal motility lab with mentorship by Dr. John Pandolfino, Chief of Gastroenterology and Hepatology.
Erin received her Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from New York Medical College in 2010 where she realized her passion for dysphagia. She completed her clinical fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic in 2011 and worked within the Catholic Health System in Buffalo, NY as a medical SLP until 2018 at which time she transitioned to pursue a career in research. Additionally, Erin has served as a member of the Dysphagia Research Society’s (DRS) Student Advisory Council (SAC) since 2020.
Erin’s research and clinical interests regard the interrelationships between oral, pharyngeal, and esophageal aspects of swallowing/swallowing disorders, aerodigestive disorders, and primary disorders of the esophagus.
