Honoring a Legacy. Advancing Clinical Training.
Dr. Jeri Logemann was a visionary in the field of speech-language pathology, widely recognized for her groundbreaking use of the Modified Barium Swallow Study (MBSS) to assess swallowing physiology. As a researcher, educator, and mentor, she fundamentally changed the way swallowing disorders are understood, diagnosed, and treated. Her legacy lives on through the countless clinicians and scientists she trained, and through the patients whose lives have been improved by her work.
At the Swallowing Cross-System Collaborative (SCSC) at Northwestern University, we are proud to honor Dr. Logemann’s enduring impact through the Jeri Logemann Fund.
About the Fund
The Jeri Logemann Fund supports post-graduate clinical training for speech-language pathologists who specialize in swallowing and swallowing disorders (dysphagia). In today’s healthcare landscape, there is a growing and urgent need for highly skilled clinicians who can deliver evidence-based, person-centered care to individuals with complex swallowing impairments.
This fund addresses that need by providing advanced, hands-on training opportunities beyond the graduate level, ensuring clinicians are prepared to meet the challenges of real-world clinical practice.
